I was brought in by the founding team in Paris to design the mobile experience, shaping the app’s UX from the ground up with a focus on clarity, speed, and accessibility. Context & Goals With e-commerce and content creation expanding rapidly, sellers needed a fast, approachable way to produce studio-grade product images without design expertise. The goal was to create a mobile-first experience that made advanced image editing as simple as taking a photo. Approach I partnered with the founders to define the core user journey and translate technical AI capabilities into an intuitive interface. Through iterative design sprints and user testing, we refined flows around onboarding, background removal, and template customization. The interface prioritized minimal friction, empowering users to generate and edit content within seconds while maintaining professional output. Results & Impact Photoroom quickly became one of the most downloaded creative apps globally, scaling to millions of users across 180+ countries. It was recognized as an Apple Editor’s Choice and consistently rated above 4.8 stars.
